These days I don't talk much about ladies, if I try to advise you and you think that you know too much I will just leave you to go and test the waters and see your result, because misguided people hardly learn from advise. They want to do that which you're saying is wrong and see what will happen. Some weeks back, I pointed out that ladies who are speaking up against men who beat women should also try and condemn the rate at which some women are battering children under them. But some misguided girls started running their mouths on Twitter. I just laughed and ignored them.
Now, one of such ladies have been dealt with by a Lagos court...with the full force of law... The police in Lagos arrested a lady, identified as Funmi Otitoloju, for obvious brutalising of her 12-year-old niece identified only as Adeola, in the Baiyeku area of Ikorodu.
It was learnt that Otitoloju used a razor blade to cut the girl in the neck and hand because she had entered other people’s apartments without her permission.
The incident occurred on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at about 6am, after which a Good Samaritan rushed the girl to a general hospital. The hospital refused to treat Adeola insisting on a police report. A worker with the Child Protection Network in the Ikorodu area was said to have been invited and then the matter was reported at the Ikorodu Police Division.
The police, thereafter, arrested Otitoloju, while the victim was treated at the hospital. According to Punch, Adeola, who is a primary 3 pupil, had been taken into government’s custody. The police this Monday arraigned Otitoloju on 2 counts bordering on child abuse at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court. The razor blade was presented as an exhibit in court. She had no option but to plead guilty to the charges. The Magistrate, A.A. Oshoniyi, sentenced Otitoloju tofour years imprisonment with no option of fine. - violence against anyone is wrong; either by a man against a lady or a woman against a child. Be guided!
