Breaking News:- INEC Declares PDP’s Seriake Dickson Winner Of Bayelsa Governorship Election
Incumbent governor, Seriake Dickson, has polled the most votes in the election of Southern Ijaw local government. The Peoples Democratic Party candidate polled 23,081 to defeat Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress, who got 10,216 votes. A total of 39, 679 votes were cancelled, according to the returning officer for Southern Ijaw. In the initial inconclusive election, Dickson polled 105,748 votes while Sylva had 72,594 votes. From the seven local government councils announced in the supplementary poll, Dickson got 29,150 votes, while Sylva had 14,258 votes. From the cumulative votes polled during the December 5 Bayelsa governorship election and the January 9 Supplementary election, Dickson polled 134, 898 while his challenger, Sylva earned 86, 852.
