DAAR Communication owners of AIT and Raypower have released a statement over the arrest of their Chairman, Raymond Dokpesi. Find the statement below On Monday Nov 30, 2015 whilst attending the 70th birthday celebration of former Minister and PDP stalwart, Professor Jerry Gana, the Chairman Emeritus of DAAR Communications Plc. received a telephone call from the Ag. Chairman of EFCC Ibrahim Magu inviting him to the visit the EFCC Headquarters to provide some clarifications and documentation regarding some transactions involving the Office of the erstwhile NSA during the 2015 Presidential election campaigns. On Tuesday Dec 1, 2015 around 2.00pm, High Chief Aleogho Dokpesi honored the verbal telephone invitation and voluntarily drove himself to the EFCC Headquarters in the company of his son, Raymond Dokpesi Jr and a legal representative of the Chambers of Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, in the person of Barrister Justin Omogbemeh. It is pertinent to state that the contrary to news reports, he wasn't arrested nor was he even formally invited, as there is no letter of invitation. At the commission, he was requested to shed more light on some payments that were made to him through the office of the erstwhile National Security Officer to the former President, Mallam Sambo Dasuki. High Chief Aleogho Dokpesi made his statement on the various media exposures and campaign transactions, which were dutifully carried out across most broadcast, print and social media in and outside Nigeria. Surprisingly, rather than been allowed to go home, a free man, or at most on administrative bail, in self recognizance, High Chief Dokpesi was kept by EFCC operatives, with onerous bail conditions imposed for his release. It is theses conditions that we are now attempting to perfect for his immediate release. Signed Raymond Dokpesi, Jnr For the Dokpesi Family

Football's governing body, FIFA, has released a statement concerning today's raid by police at the luxury Baur Au Lac Hotel, scene of raids in May that saw seven FIFA officials arrested and charged, triggering a crisis from which the organisation is still reeling. The officials who were arrested at6a.mthis morning are being held in custody pending extradition, the Swiss authorities said. The US arrest requests say the officials are suspected of accepting bribes involving millions of dollars.
The Swiss authorities say they will hold hearings on the requests before the end of the day. If the officials agree to extradition, the process can be agreed immediately but, if they oppose extradition, the US will need to submit a formal extradition request within 40 days. Read FIFA's official statement on it's website after the jump. ''FIFA is aware of the actions taken today by the U.S. Department of Justice. FIFA will continue to cooperate fully with the U.S. investigation as permitted by Swiss law, as well as with the investigation being led by the Swiss Office of the Attorney General. FIFA will have no further comment on today’s developments''
According to a report by The Nation, former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki has started opening up about the controversial $2.1 billion arms deal. A source at EFCC who spoke with the newspaper stated that Dasuki decided to open up after a former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Shaibu Salisu who was recently arrested in connection with the probe, made some statements implicating him, Dasuki, in the deal. The EFCC source said: "When Dasuki was brought in, he initially refused to write any statement, alleging that he had been subjected to media trial. I think the ex-NSA decided not to open up based on the advice of his lawyers that he should leave everything for the open court. The EFCC operatives, however, obliged Dasuki a copy of the statement by a former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Shaibu Salisu in which the latter made some implicating statements. Dasuki, who was shocked by Salisu’s confessions, repeatedly asked: ‘You mean Salisu wrote all these! You mean he said these! Give me a pen and paper’. Thereafter, Dasuki decided to open a can of worms. He gave a long list of PDP chieftains who collected money from the Office of the NSA. He mentioned the names of a former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, ex-governors and ex-ministers and many others. As I am talking to you, Dasuki is still writing his statement. The disclosures of the ex-Director of Finance in ONSA have assisted greatly in getting to the bottom of the armsgate. So, the investigation is still on. We will certainly arrest more suspects soon. There were indications that the anti-graft commission may extend its probe to the seizure of $9million cash by South Africa and quiz all those involved in the botched deal. An Israeli suspect implicated in the deal is said to be on the run now after throwing a lavish party at his Abuja home recently.
